RUNNING:

I ran for the first time in 2 weeks on Tuesday 6am.  It was a nice 4 miler up on my boardwalk.

 Total : 42:48   4 miles    10:42/mi

lap1 11:04
lap2 10:36
lap3 10:26
lap4 10:41

Here is what I wrote on Dailymile – Which, by the way is a great site.  Check it out, it’s like facebook for runners!

Today was the 1st time I ran in almost 2 weeks. I have a stressed shin. Thickening of my bone. Anyway, I ran 4 miles and my legs felt ok but towards the last mile my legs felt very heavy. It just felt great to be out there running.

Did I mention that my TOE is practically healed.  Almost.  Not 100% may never be 100% healed.  That is fine with me.  I have my old regular toe back.  And my shin, well there is thickening of my shin.  I think that may mean there was some sort of thing going on there and now its healed or almost healed?  The doctor said to try to run and if there is no pain then run but be careful on hills.  Also I am icing icing icing that shin of mine.  And stretching.  I want to make the icing-stretching a part of my running routine.  I am also going to be running less days per week per giving it a lot of thought and talking to my running buddies.  It’s all good.  I will be at the starting line of the Brooklyn Half Marathon in 2 weeks.  And, I will finish the thing.  Then I don’t have to talk about it anymore.  Well except if I run it in 2 hours.  Then I may brag a bit.  I have other races on the horizon.  No marathons.  At least not this year.

I have a running date tomorrow with Samantha.  8.30AM!  We are going for 8 miler.

We are what we repeatedly do.  Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.  ‘Aristotle

Thanks for all the funny comments on my homegirl’s G-Post.  My giggle girle!!!

I love Central Park. Once you are in the park, you do forget that you are in the city. Amazing !!!

I am so pleased to know that your toe is healing nicely and you are taking care of your shin. Remember, go nice and slow this weekend with your running plan.

    Have a GREAT weekend…. Ted

Unfortunately, not on a regular basis. It’s Central Park. Mostly I run there for races but I may make a habit of running there more often for training runs!! Wanna join me?
